King Spread: Sovereignty
The King Archetype is the Sovereign Self. Every being has the right to their own lives. It does not mean you have control of everything, it simply stands that you are the central force of choice in your own life.
Use this Layout when you feel your personal rights or boundaries are being challenged or you are being asked to realize them and assert them.
Personal Power resides when a person knows that freedom within themselves is a function of how they view reality: as a participant or a spectator or a victim.
To maintain one's genuine right of Choice one must constantly weigh the forces with which they interact. Use the feedback of this Spread to face them and decide with deliberate power. You can show yourself as a magnanimous monarch or as a tyrannical despot.
- Card 1. The Boundary - What is the issue being raised? Or the trespass you feel?
- Card 2. Your Domain - Is whatever you believe you own or deserve.
- Card 3. The Powers that Be - No man is an Island unto himself. There are always parallel agents at play in ones life who we influence or who do the same with us. What/who are those considerations?
- Card 4. The Denouement - You are being petitioned to make a decision and the 3 previous Cards reveal the aspects to be considered. What is the resolution that weaves together your inner standards with the outer concerns?
- Card 5. Your Declaration. Your decision on the matter. Sometimes eloquent sometimes silent sometimes blunt or harsh, your final disposition should include arguments that address the issue or at least seek to quell your own doubts. Shadow poles and Chief Feature Cards might alert you that Narcissism or Ego is governing the edict. Perhaps it is circumstantially wise to allow it?
