“Love the one you’re with.”

Stephen Stills, Song: Love the One Your With

Unconditinal Love as Mary loving her baby son Jesus in the Nativity Scene as defined in the Michael Teachings

Implications of the Upright Position or the Positive Pole

Love is blind. So goes the old adage. The woman holds an open hand and signals her unconcern about appearances, but love is spelled out for all to see. The Seventh Chakra, this Center opens the Personality with the Messianic Plane. The Infinite Soul (a term meaning Avatar or one fully realized to his own Divinity) that represented this quality was that of Jesus of Nazareth, who was called the Christ by the Hebrews of that time. Higher Emotional Centered experiences remind us of our universal connection with all things, and that ultimately beyond the realm of fear and MAYA (Card 69), there is no difference between us, at our core.

Card messages in the Illuminated position.

+ Unconditional Love

(peak experience, admiration, ecstasy, serenity)

  1. An attitude of healing fills the atmosphere with love and understanding. Heal all rifts and the situation will follow.
  2. Love is the foundation of all that matters and all that is matter. Messianic energy dissolves the fog of Maya and forgives any conditions which hinder common bonds. Remember this idiom: “there but for the love of God go I.”
  3. No matter what the circumstance bring loving kindness and light hardheartedness to all the players, no matter how difficult it seems, and the core focus of any sticking points will be dissolved.
  4. Being genuine and vulnerable, meaning direct about what you feel, IS unconditional love in action. You do not have to be perfect, just open.
  5. Drop all schemes, pretenses and strategies, and open your heart to that possibility.
  6. Relating to someone’s greatest love: a child, a spouse, a discovery, can be the best way to realize that they are human just like you.
  7. You are in the presence of a situation where you can open your heart and perhaps heal something that has been out of balance. If you are willing?
  8. Alfred Lord Tennyson famously said, “Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.” Even if this phrase seems like BS, in the long run, love is always worth it.

  • “Nothing that is worth doing can be achieved in our lifetime; therefore, we must be saved by hope. … Nothing we do, however virtuous, can be accomplished alone; therefore, we are saved by love. No virtuous act is quite as virtuous from the standpoint of our friend or foe as it is from our standpoint. Therefore, we must be saved by the final form of love, which is forgiveness.” Reinhold Niebuhr, Theologian
  • When the power of love, replaces the love of power, Man will have a new name: God.” Sri Chinmoy

But whether you think of the light of reason, the light of love, or the Divine Light; the common denominator is awareness.” Deepak Chopra – From 21-Day Meditation Series – Creating Peace from the Inside Out: The Power of Connection!
  • The good life is one inspired by love and guided by knowledge. Bertrand Russell

Implication of the Reversed Position or Negative Pole

When love is constriction it might as well be a noose. Sympathy is like putting a leash on someone. Believing them to be weak or helpless, you drag them around to cheer them up. Or they drag you around with their grief. In either case, here you believe that the emotion of love, has only a single dimension. It feels painful, not freeing.

Card messages associated with Shadow position.

– Sympathy

(ennui, pity, intuition, elation, inconsolable, hysteria, weeping)

  1. History is stored in one’s etheric memory. Intuition is what is engaged when a past learning has been stirred. Pay attention when it is activated. Many easily confuse the presence of feelings that seeks healing, understanding or resolution as a signal of “fair” assessment in an encounter. Projection also happens. It probes rather than asks, it presupposes rather than acts. Trust it, but verify it with the spoken word.
  2. Benevolent paternalism may go far to fulfill the needs of a family or a people. But it prevents one from being seen as whole.  Stop guessing you know what is good for someone and ask questions.
  3. Sympathy for someone easily hides pity. Pity makes you believe you are in a stronger position than someone else. This is condescension that may make you feel important in some way. Encourage but don’t enable.
  4. Do not rest on what your intuition is telling you. If you have a hunch, look into it before you act on it. Emotions don’t use words, they use sensation. Let that feeling alert you, and pay attention to the tenor of the interaction.
  5. Sadism, especially the reverie derived from pain tolerance or pain giving, is an attempt to activate a near divine sensation of power over something else. It is delicious to the Ego and dangerous to everyone else. Be careful! This is the motivation that people draw from when wanting revenge, from a long standing grudge.
  6. Selfish emotions are those rooted in the fearful belief in scarcity; that you’ll never have enough. Raise your havingness. Love is always generous because it is always abundant. Share if you care.
  7. Don’t confuse the presence of feelings which seek healing, understanding or resolution a signal of “fair” assessment of the encounter. Projection also happens. It probes rather than asks and it acts on presupposition. Intuition is always biased.
  8. Protecting yourself from being hurt is also shutting yourself down from the possibility of knowing the ecstasy of love without condition. It can be frightening to be totally open and vulnerable. Many will not believe it is possible.
  9. Past life history is stored in one’s DNA memory. Intuition is engaged when a memory has been stirred. Pay attention when it is activated. Trust it, but verify it with the spoken word.
Quote reflecting Overleaf in this Pole
  • “It is not because the truth is too difficult to see that we make mistakes… we make mistakes because the easiest and most comfortable course for us is to seek insight where it accords with our emotions – especially selfish ones.” Alexander Solzhenitsyn
  • “Loving is a feeling that brings both joy and pain to my heart. Joy from being with you, being filled with an emotion so deep and tender that no other feeling can compare. Pain from knowing that I’m so in love, that I’m more vulnerable than I’ve ever”~ author unknown
  • “At times we feel we cannot love. Because of our confusion and the pain we carry.” Jack Kornfield
  • “Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” Dr. Martin Luther King
  • “When you stay in your room and rage or sneer or shrug your shoulders, the world and its problems are impossibly daunting. But when you go out and put yourself in real relation to real people, or even just real animals, there’s a very real danger that you might love some of them. And who knows what might happen to you then?” Jonathan Franzen , Author  “There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness.” Fredrich Nietzsche
  • “A man is only as good as what he loves.” Saul Bellow
  • One of the most tragic ironies of human existence is that we conspire in the belief, most often unexamined, that violence is more powerful than love. We spend hundreds of billions of dollars on ways to kill each other, but a tiny fraction of that amount on ways to help each other….as though it isn’t masses of desperate, hopeless people who are the main recruits to the collective pathologies that threaten us. This one awakening, harnessed and turned into political force, would completely change the direction of human history.” Marianne Williamson
  • “To call war the soil of courage and virtue is like calling debauchery the soil of love.” George Santayana Ch. III: Industry, Government, and War
  • “We’re all a little weird, and life’s a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love” (Dr Seuss)
  • “When a man’s life is hidden from everybody else . . . it seems also to become much hidden even from himself, and it permits disease and death to gnaw into his substance without his clear knowledge.  Men who are unknown and/or inadequately loved often fall ill, or even die, as if suddenly and without warning. . . If one had direct access to the person’s real self, one would have had many earlier signals that the present way of life was generating illness.” Sidney Jourard, The Transparent Self

Relevance to the Michael Teaching

The Seventh Chakra, this Center opens the Personality with the Messianic Plane.  The Infinite Soul (a term meaning Avatar or one full realized to his own Divinity) that represented this quality was that of Jesus of Nazareth, who was called the Christ, by the Hebrews of that time. Higher Emotional center experiences remind us of our universal connection with all things, and that ultimately beyond the realm of fear and MAYA, there is no difference between us.

To connect with the Universal Love that feels more like a lightness and presence and a calm that is still but expansive. Energy of this caliber stands in some contrast to many of the experience intended for this realm and as such, a person is not “born” into this level of experience. As a “higher center” access to it is, for most people, “hit-and-miss”. Like all of these Exalted center experiences, one can create conditions for it to happen but it can only seldom be accessed at will.  When someone experiences a moment of such pure appreciation they a state of oneness between yourself and that person opens.

Cultural Meaning

Christ almighty, can we leave poor Jesus alone. With some claiming that Jesus would carry a rifle, another group saying he doesn’t exist, another still reminding us he is “the Prince of Peace”, this poor Hebrew gets usurped and manipulated for everyone’s purposes except the one he constantly reminded us of: “love thy neighbor and love thine enemy” all the rest is projection. They were called the Be-attitudes, not the Me-attitudes. My God, how is it that we can claim love while invoking hate? It seems, apparently, easier than HE intended.

Seldom may one find a nectar so sweet and invariably healing as the totality of Love without judgment. Freed from the constraints and biases of limiting belief, Agape as the Greeks referred to it, or unconditional positive regard as Humanist Psychologist Carl Rodgers called it; comes with the possibility to act without malice, fear, or hatred but does not restrict the facts of the situation. However, it cleanses us of our projections.

Signs that you are Experiencing a Higher Center Moment

  1. When you have a moment of peace, when fear cannot penetrate you.
  2. When you are emotionally open to any feeling moving through you and can suspend all judgment but also experience gratitude for the experience.
